Job Description & Requirements

Our firm is seeking a Staff Auditor with experience and passion for the Financial Services Industry (Banks and Credit Unions). The Griffin & Furman audit team provides assistance that go beyond the compliance function. This high-performing team brings accounting knowledge and the language of financial institutions to our clients to help as a consultant rather than an auditor. We want our clients to have the proper knowledge and know they can come to us for guidance.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess strong attention to detail, sensitivity to deadlines, and leadership and management capabilities. Dedication to client service is essential, including consistent positive interactions with clients and the demonstration of effective communication and people skills. The successful candidate will be an independent worker with excellent project management and time management skills.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Auditor on our fun, close-knit audit team, this is what part of your work entails:

    • Participating on annual audit, review, and compilation of engagements with a variety of clients.
    • Participating in all aspects of financial statement preparation and assisting with the planning of the engagements.
    • Performing a large amount of technical work and continuing to develop technical skills because we want you to succeed. That takes dedication, but we believe in you.
    • Maintaining an exceptional relationship with clients to increase customer happiness and working with client management and staff at all levels to perform audit services. You are a key factor to growing our firm.
    • We promote partnership and collaboration, so you will work with your audit team to identify and resolve client issues discovered during the audit process. We encourage you to be creative and become an expert so that you can make a difference at our firm.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Financial institution experience at any level is a plus (banks or credit unions)
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
    • Experience managing multiple complex client engagements
